On Wednesday, illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers attacked and injured assaulted and injured two Palestinian youngsters in Qarawat Bani Hassan, to the west of Salfit in the central West Bank.
Medical sources said the colonizers chased and assaulted the two Palestinian youths, causing several injuries.
They added that Palestinian medics rushed to the area and treated the two before moving them to a hospital in Salfit.
Also on Wednesday, Israeli colonizers cut and uprooted more than 170 olive trees in Palestinian orchards in Yasuf and As-Sawiya, east of Salfit.
“Violence committed by settlers against Palestinians has been documented since the very early days of the occupation. It is recorded in countless government documents and dossiers, in thousands of testimonies from Palestinians and soldiers, in books, in reports by Palestinian, Israeli, and international human rights organizations – including B’Tselem, from its inception – and in thousands of media stories. Yet this ongoing, comprehensive documentation has had almost no effect on settler violence against Palestinians, which has long since become part and parcel of life under the occupation in the West Bank,” said the Israeli human rights group, B’Tselem.
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
